Saturday Review.

из Dancing Times:
Impudent Attack
Dear Sir,
After a very long experience of ballet criticism I have never seen anything to equal Mr. John Martin's article Nureyev, Plus and Minus in the Saturday Review (New York), May 5th [25 на самом деле]. It is nothing but an impudent personal attack on an individual.
It is Mr. Martin's right to query the wisdom of engaging Nureyev as guest artist. It is also his right to say that Nureyev is "a generally characteristic representative of the technical norm of young Soviet dancers", though this merely confirms what I have long felt, that Mr. Martin has little real understanding of ballet. He has, however, no right to make such rush and silly statements as that Nureyev has inherited the "predacity of Tatars", whatever that may mean, or to state that after a year and a half he has taken no steps to become a British subject. Nureyev's passport has nothing whatsoever to do with ballet criticism or with Mr. Martin and this is alleged to be a critical article.
I very much hope that such bad manners will not spread to this country.
